Rwanda | Muhororo: Sacco members plan to build their office premises

The cooperative members of Umurenge Sacco in Muhororo sector are constructing a house which will accommodate their cooperative offices, a need that had been long awaited.

The executive secretary of Muhororo sector Bwana Harerimana Adrian revealed that the cooperative have been operating in a one roomed house lent to them by sector which is very small compared to the number of members and their daily activities. They are to construct an office house worth Rwf15 million within a period of five months.
The house being constructed is in line with the master plan designed by Rwanda Cooperatives Agency and it has all the required documents. The building contains two counters, a conference hall, customer’s waiting room, an accountant’s office, office of the loans personnel and many others.
Cooperative members agreed contribute Rwf2000 per head plus the loan acquired which will be also paid by cooperative members as time goes by until when the construction is complete.
Muhororo SACCO started in the year 2009 and it now boosts of 3571 members who have adopted the spirit of working with banks by borrowing and saving. The lives of Muhororo Sacco cooperative members have tremendously changed be it in farming and doing business whereby they have so far acquired both borrowed money and savings worth Rwf26, 330,900 which have enabled them to change their lives.
