The minister of education Dr Vincent Biruta has called upon schoolauthorities and the students at large to always be healthy conscious, during his recent visit to the area
He said that hygiene should not only be seen on human skin and clothing’s but also in other places like toilets, dormitories and the kitchen.
On his visit to Burera district, he said that many of the schools he has been to, studentslook smart on the body and in dressing but their toilets, dormitories and other specific places look terrible hygienically.
The minister asked school leaders to always emphasize hygiene in all sections of theschool. He said that many school authorities with poor hygiene use an excuse of not having water around schools but advised them to always tell students to carry water containers from their homes so they can solve a problem of water shortage and have good hygiene.
He continued to advice students not to only have hygiene at schools but also maintain it in their homes because it would be a shame to find a person with good education back ground but with poor hygiene in their homes.
