RWANDA : NUMBER OF WOMEN STAFFING IN THE POLICE FORCE STILL LOW

Police women are showing good results in their job of preventing and following up crimes, keeping security, and others though the number of these officers is claimed to be inadequate.

Rwanda National police like any other level in the country, it has promoted gender balance so that girls and women participate in upholding the law.
This has been achieved where police women participate in preventing gender based violence, insecurities and curbing down the crimes.
Though it is like this, according to the RNP website say that the number of women that enter the police force is still little compared to the number needed since they do most of their work outside the country in peace keeping missions.
Rwanda is the first country with a big number of women at the moment that are in peace keeping missions in the United Nations.
