Rwanda : DOT Rwanda creating job opportunities

Digital Opportunity Trust (DOT) Rwanda has embarked on training the youth in ICT skills as way of creating new job opportunities.
The DOT initiative operates in 23 districts of Rwanda and trains the less advantaged youth in information technology, building self confidence and providing jobs for some young entrepreneurs. Some of the beneficiaries are already in business and such trainings have added skills in running their projects.
One, Phelin Ndikubwayo, an artist, says that the training is an addition step in her career such as writing and recording songs.
DOT Rwanda official in the southern province, Alex Mwesijye, says that the target is to train at least over 350 youths, in the next nine months. This will bridge the gap of skills in entrepreneurship and create opportunity for the youths” he said.
At least 120 youths have been trained in Byimana sector, and local leaders said that the skills will provide opportunity of creating jobs for the youths.
