Rwanda : Students’ elections’ training succeeds

National Electoral Commission (NEC) in Kirehe district has successfully trainedstudents representatives from secondary schools in all sectors on the role of a student in upholding democracy in Rwanda.
Oscar Uyisabye a worker for NEC in Kirehe district said this program is to makestudents understand their responsibility and to always vote for people who will represent them well. They were trained on how they can prevent conflicts that are common after elections and this was in a way of preparing intellectuals for the futureRwanda.
It is a way of explaining to these students the importance of elections and understanding potential candidates because some of them are supposed to vote when they are of legal age.
These student representatives are meant to train their fellow students about elections.
