Ways that RADA is preparing to use is to have gardens meant to increase the production of these grasses and then be given everywhere they are needed and thus help farmers in being fed to cattle and fighting against soil erosion.
Innocent Hakuzimana said that they first give a grass called Sitariya and its seeds are going to be given to residents in sectors in and nearby Gishwati forest.
This act will remain till all farms and farmers are areas that are usually affected by soil erosion in Gishwati forest will have enough of these grasses and no longer affected by erosion.
Apart from RADA, other government bodies like those for protecting the environment, land, Natural resources, agriculture, forestry and others are emphasizing on acts to conserve and protect Gishwati area as it is a mountainous area that is usually affected by erosion.
After forming terraces in this area, land was divided into where to be cultivated, where to rear cattle and where to leave for wilderness.
All this is done to protect this area from soil erosion and landslides. People were also relocated to other places so as to avoid accidents.
