Rwanda | Districts to tackle street Girl question

Information from Valentine Mukamuyenzi, in charge of social affairs department in Street Ahead Children’s CentreAssociation (Sacca) that receives street children in Kayonza district states on the hardship.
“You can tell a street boy basing on what he does for survival or drug abuse but girls on streets are thought of as prostitutes. This makes it hard to think of them as street girls than young prostitutes,” laments Mukamuyenzi.
Mukamuyenzi explains that most girls brought in Sacca reveal their prostitution past while others deny it saying they have been working as home servants or sweeping in market places.
The reason behind this is that girls do not normally go to towns like boys but they tend to wonder in rural areas, sleeping in different people’s homes claiming to have got problems, says Mukamuyenzi.

Others are taught skills to stand on their own in future.http://bahoneza.com/2012/05/rwanda-districts-tackle-street-girl-question/
