Veterinarians showing off their certificates
Milk produce has increased due to the introduction of modern farming and Girinka Munyarwanda program, Rwanda Agriculture Board has revealed.
This was revealed on May 5th 2012 in Musanze district; during the event to award certificates to the 31 veterinarians from all districts of Northern Province to allow them inseminate cows artificially.
During the occasion, Dr. Jean Jacques Mbonigaba Muhinda, Managing Director of RAB (Rwanda Agriculture Board) highlighted that milk produce has increased since 2006.
“In 2006 we had 150 tons of milk per year but now, we get over 400 tons of milk produce every year,” explains Dr. Mbonigaba
Every morning in Rwanda, 1.6 million litres of milk are collected. The produce is much more compared to what could be got in 2006, adds Dr. Mbonigaba
Dr. Jean Jacques Mbonigaba asserts that this was made possible by the Ministry of agriculture which supported government programs like modern agriculture through training veterinarians how to inseminate cows.
