Due to heavy rains and sandy soils on the hills, land slide has blocked Mugoroba road making it impossible for vehicles and pedestrians.
This happened at the end of April2012 in Rambura sector, Nyundo cell, Nyampanika village in Nyabihu district.
This comes after the same incident happened on Mukamira-Ngororero road in Rambura sector three months ago, laments the International Express driver, who uses this road .
”When we reach this point, we exchange passengers because vehicles cannot cross the landslide that has blocked the road,” explains the driver.
Land sliding is common in some districts of western province including Nyabihu due to heavy rains, and this result into death, destruction of houses and crops, and floods.
Angela Mukaminani; vice mayor for economic development in Nyabihu district reveals that the Ministry of infrastructure is doing the best to fix the problem and clear the road for vehicles.
Also, measures will be taken to prevent the road from landslides that have been common in this area.
