Rwanda : Rwanda set to fight any instance of corruption

After noting that there is persistence of land issues in the Eastern province the Office of the Ombudsman directly convened a consultative meeting with the Prosecutor General to discuss on how to find quick solution.
it was revealed that Since President Paul Kagame recommended to Major General Fred Ibingira to create a commission to share a fairly Mutara farms in the Eastern Province, the problem still persists in the districts of Gatsibo, Kayonza and Nyagatare .
In a press conference, Augustine Nzindukiyimana, the ombudsman and the interim board, underscored that the Office of ombudsman will use all possible means to eradicate injustice in land distribution especially in the region of Umutara but without forgetting the other parts of the country.
Regarding the 20 prisoners who were to be released after the decision of the Council of Ministers in 2011, Alphonse Hitiyaremye, Assistant Attorney General, said that the detainees had other charges that were not mentioned before as rape and creating disorders in prisons hence they could not qualify for parole.
Under minimized errors in the release of prisoners, Hitamana reported that they decided to exchange information between agencies, the Ministry of Justice, the Prosecutor General and the management of the prisons.
It was also revealed that cases of Corruption were especially remarkable in the construction of hydroelectric dams and in obtaining markets.
The meeting participants also agreed that officers of the judicial police must be trained by the Rwandan competents in this field and experts working in the field of justice.
Other items relating to corruption include obtaining work in state institutions, which will attract the attention during the week of the fight against corruption at the national level.
