Rwanda | MINEDUC trains secondary school Directors in ICT

The Ministry of Education in partnership with VVOB, a Belgian managed project has organized training in ICT for secondary school Directors.
The training aims at improving the usage of ICT in schools management. The schools management programme was put in place as a way of overcoming increased challenges that require subsequently creative flexibility of partners in order to reach the expected outcomes.
According to MINEDUC, the best school management practices call for proper planning, but then, even that calls for understanding of ICT for good results.
The training is being held in two places namely; Rwamagan, Huye, and Nyamata. It is planned that a total of 275 directors will be trained in a period of three weeks. Emphasis is being put in training Directors of 9YBE and 12YBE.
According to the directors, it would be good if the plan to roll out solar energy to rural schools is done quickly. The plan programme is being done in partnership between the ministry of Education and the Ministry of Infrastructure
The ministry of Education also urged the schools to build their own websites for easy sharing of information which will result in the improvement of the quality of education.
