Ngororero sets program to protect residents from lightning

Muhororo sector in Ngororero District is set on placing lightening rods in all places where people gather in the sector as well as encourage people to put them on their homes before the end of this drought.
This will protect families from thunder and lightning when the rain finally falls assures the executive secretary of the sector Adrien Harerimana.

With the government’s plea to governmental and private organizations to put lightening rods to the offices or other places where people gather as a strategy to protect people from Natural disasters, Muhororo sector is so keen on working on this plea and ensure safety of its people.
Buildings like the sector’s offices, the sector’s SACCO offices and all health centers in Muhororo sector already have lightening rods as a safety precaution to protect people from thunder and lightening.
The executive secretary of Muhororo sector says accidents caused by lightening and thunder should not take more people’s lives just like before. Even though this program has cost the sector about Rwf2.5 million, Adrien Harerimana says people’s lives are more expensive and money is worked for.

Harerimana says among other buildings that require lightening rods as soon as possible include schools, churches and trading houses among others. Muhororo is the first sector out of the 13 sectors in Ngororero district to zealously put erecting of lightning rods on houses program in practice.
