Rwandan basketball clubs Espoir and APR will represent the country at this year’s Zone V Basketball Championship which will be held in Bujumbura, Burundi from August 5-11.
This was confirmed on Friday by the Rwanda Basketball Federation Technical Director Didier Shema Maboko.
He said, “We only have Espoir and APR women club set to represent the country in the regional event,”
Besides the Rwandan clubs Kenya will send ISIU in men and Eagles Wings and ISIU in women category; Uganda will be represented by Warriors and Falcons in men and KCCA in women; Vijana and Don Bosco will represent Tanzania in men and women categories.
Hosts Burundi will field four teams namely Uranani and New star in men and Berco Star and Les Gazelles in women category.
Espoir is the defending champion of Zone 5 clubs championships which it won last year in Kampala and also represented the region in the Fiba Afrique Cup of Clubs held in Equatorial Guinea in December last year.
