Ngororero introducing fire extinguishers for safety

With the fire that has been destroying houses and different properties in Ngororero district as well as the whole country, Ngororero district is calling upon its residents to get fire extinguishers in their homes.

Fire extinguishers are being placed on all district office buildings

The district is participating in this program by distributing fire extinguishers in the district’s buildings as a precaution to protect fires in case of an accident.

Vedaste Garoi Ndayambaje the official in charge of good governance in the district says the district adopted to participate in this program to promote it being exemplary.

“This will make local people, Private sector and the district’s partners in development realize the importance of having fire extinguishers in their homes and working places.”

The police teaching people how to use fire extinguishers

SSP Fred Yahaya Simuga the police commandant in Ngororero district says the fire extinguishers are not expensive compared to their worth in preventing fires and saving people’s lives as well as their properties.

Local people especially traders are getting used to the idea of having these fire extinguishers though most of them have not bought yet.

As the way to support to this program, the National Police of Rwanda in Ngororero district is teaching people the use of fire extinguishers though public displays.
