For the first time in Rwanda, a concert dubbed “Roots Rock Reggae” has been organized in memory of the late Haile Selassie, former Emperor of Ethiopia who holds a special place in the Rasta fraternity.


Courtesy of Mulindi Japan One Love artists including Jah Bon D, Natty Dread, Holy Jah Doves and Strong Voice will grace the event which shall take place on November 2, 2013.


It’s been eighty three years since Selassie was crowned Emperor, and worldwide the Rasta family has been celebrating this day.


Speaking to rwandashow.com Jah Bon D said how it was important to honor this day. He said: “We take Selassie as a founder of the Rasta religion and this is the day when he ascended to power as the Emperor.”


In Rwanda it will be the first time this day is celebrated. The day is observed by numerous countries around the word. The concert shall commence at 7pm and entrance is Rwf2, 000 per head.
