Five envoys present credentials to President Paul Kagame

Five ambassadors representing their countries to Rwanda on October 21, 2013 presented credentials to President Paul Kagame.

The envoys include Salah Amed Elsalih Elguneid, Ambassador-Designate of Sudan to Rwanda with residence in Kigali, Amb. Minata Samate Cessouma, Ambassador-Designate of Burkina Faso to Rwanda with residence in Addis Ababa and Amb. Nyolosi Mphale, Ambassador -Designate of Lesotho to Rwanda with residence in Addis Ababa.

The others who presented their credentials were Amb. Christophe Ella Ekogha, Ambassador-Designate of Gabon to Rwanda with residence in Kinshasa, Amb. Samuel Luate Laminsuk, Ambassador-Designate of South Sudan to Rwanda with residence in Kampala

These envoys confirmed the existing and strong diplomatic relations between their countries and Rwanda, adding that improvement of bilateral cooperation for the mutual benefit would be their priorities during the tenure.

According to the Sudanese ambassador Elguneid, his focus will be sensitizing reciprocal investment between the two countries.

“We are planning on increasing investment flow between the two countries and link businessmen from both countries for economic development,” he said.

Laminsuk said the ties between Rwanda and South Sudan started from the liberation struggle, which led to its Independence in 2011.

“Its against this historical back ground that my country find the importance of cooperating with Rwanda,” He said.

On September 21, 2013 RwandAir, the national carrier of Rwanda, launched its maiden flight to the South Sudan capital with Juba becoming its 15th flight destination.

Cessouma said Rwanda has achieved a lot, which would serve as a lesson for other countries.

“Rwanda is leading in various areas despite going through a difficult time and tragic moments of the genocide.”

He stressed that today Rwanda is powerful in Africa and has managed to restore peace and security not only in Rwanda but also across the world.

Mphale emphasized on improving bilateral cooperation between the Rwanda and Burkina Faso basing on similarities.

“There is need for the two countries, which are both small countries between the African countries rather than us having to go to Europe for assistance.”

Today Rwanda boasts of 25 embassies across the world with the 10 African, 7 in European and 7 of them based in America as well as Asian countries. This includes more than 25 foreign countries having diplomatic gradation to Rwanda with a base in Kigali.
