After getting the last position in 2012/2013 performance contracts’ implementation with 47.54 percent, youth in Huye district have vowed to work hard for the first position in 2013/2014 performance contracts.

They made the vow on October 21, 2013 during the meeting of youth representatives at Huye district headquarters.

The meeting was meant to showcase performance contracts for to 2013/2014 financial year.

During the meeting, it was said that failure to deliver reports led youth to scoring low marks.

Performance contracts (“Imihigo” in Kinyarwanda) are contracts between the President of Rwanda and government agencies detailing goals to archieve in a year’s period.

Jean Marie Vianney Kagenza, assistant cordinator for National youth council highlighted that youth’s failure was brought by some local leaders who work from outside Huye district.

Kagenza explained that working outside the district makes them fail to accurately attend to their responsibilities.

To resolve the issue, it was decided that those leaders be replaced so that Huye district youth get a better position as far as performance contract implementation is concerned.

In 2012/2013 youth performance contracts pledged by the National Youth Council, Nyagatare district youth emerged the winner with 99.44percent.
