Residents of Kibondo Kabarore sector in Gatsibo district have been advised to maintain hygiene in order to avoid poor sanitation related diseases.

This comes after research conducted at Kibondo health centre in Kabarore sector in Gatsibo district confirmed that most patients suffer from poor hygiene related diseases.

Research was carried out in 11 villages that Kibondo health centre covers with the help of an American volunteer Demetree Keza.

Keza, an American volunteer from “Peace corps” organisation who assisted in research advised residents to follow advice and prevent poor hygiene related diseases.

After laboratory tests, it was found that roundworms is the common disease attacking residents.

Aloysie Nirere, one of the residents who attended the event said she has understood the importance of cleanliness.

J. Bosco Rwamucyo the health officer at Kibondo health centre highlights that this method will yield results since residents have embraced it.
