Rwanda : ActionAid calls for respect Human Rights

Rwanda ActionAid
ActionAid-Rwanda Country Director, Josephine Uwamariya has asked Rwanda to learn from their history and ensure that no more lives are lost due to under any kind of ideology or ethnic divisions infiltrated in the community.
Uwamariya made the remarks after respects to thousands of Genocide victims buried at Murambi Memorial site, where over 50.000 genocide victims are laid to rest in Nyamagabe District, Southern Province of Rwanda.
Uwamariya was in company of ActionAid staff members in Rwanda. She said that “under no circumstances, does anybody have a right to take the life of another person”.
She noted that Rwandans need to desist from following any leaders who may want to drive them into the genocide era, and that whatever happened in Rwanda should not happen anywhere else.
ActionAid staff visited the site under the context of the ongoing 18th genocide memorial in Rwanda, which runs through April to July annually. They also laid wreaths on graves on genocide victims, but also donated Rwf200.000 as contribution to site maintenance activities.
