A newly initiated youth programme dubbed ‘Ndi Umunyarwanda’ (am Rwandan) has impacted on the youths of Rwanda by creating a sense of patriotism and development among the youths.


Hundreds of youths and residents from Rutsiro District in Western Province of Rwanda, on August 16, participated in Ndi Umunyarwanda session committed to work towards Rwanda’s self-reliance.


They say that the programme should be embraced by all young Rwandans so as to educate them on the need to work toward self-reliance and create a new sense of national unity by involving youths in supporting genocide survivors in their respective communities.


The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth and ICT, Rosemary Mbabazi speaking to Rutsiro residents urged them to contribute to the development of the country by embracing the culture of hard working; said that the program emphasizes the importance of speaking the truth and continuously fighting to do what is right.


The ultimate goal of Ndi Umunyarwanda programme is to build trust by telling and living the truth among peers and pave way for them to be fully liberated and thus contribute to the development of the country; Building national identity. This is going to be achieved through a series of dialogue sessions with various categories of persons in society.
