With less than a week before his concert dubbed “Mani Martin Live Concert”, singer Mani Martin has thrown a wind of caution to stars who organize similar concerts, only to make them star laden instead of providing quality music to their audiences. According to Martin, a considerable number of artistes have lost confidence in themselves, which compels them to invite their counterparts to their concerts in order to attract large crowds.
Speaking at a show dubbed Sunday Night on a local FM station, the star explained that he plans to do it his way and that the audience that will be there will be fully his. He said, “I think it’s down to the fact they (musicians) have lost confidence and believe inviting as many artistes as they can, will guarantee them bigger crowds. For me I decided to invited underground musicians because it’s what’s best for me”
Meanwhile preparations are underway for the big night on 1st September at Kigali Serena Hotel, and Mani Martin believes what he has in store for the fans will be more than satisfying. Asked if the anxiety is running high, the star nodded in approval but said that once the bar has been raised high (in reference to his album launch) then one has to keep the momentum. He added, “I know my album launch was a success and because of that I have to match it up with an even better performance.”
Attendants of the concert will part with a cool 10,000Rwf, while they will be provided with a free DVD containing the videos to his album My Destiny.
