Motorcyclists’ cooperative COTAMON has constructed a commercial building worth Rwf 19million, a building that has 4 shops and 3 bedrooms which are rented out.
“This is one of the many achievements this cooperative has reached’, said the former cooperative Chairman Vedaste Uwabagabo, who added on saying that they had even started a driving school with help from the cooperative members.
“We have again managed to give out motorcycles to our members on a loan” explained the former cooperative Chairman.
He however disputed rumors that as a leadership they had used the finances prepared to construct this building badly saying that they used all the funds as allocated to them.
He explained the reason they used iron sheets that were not budgeted for saying that this was because they first had to book for the needed ones and therefore this is why they used such iron sheets.
People elected on the 13/08/2013 therefore promised to work hard which will help members of the cooperative develop more.
The new committee elected is headed by Jean Baptiste Hitayezu who replaced Vedaste Uwabagabo the former chairman.
