INILAK students extend a helping hand to a Genocide widow



INILAK students visited Kayireme


Students from the Independent Institute of Lay Adventists of Kigali (INILAK) have donated a Friesian cow to Dafrosa Kayireme, a vulnerable genocide widow. Kayireme hails from Mukarange Sector, Kayonza District.


The students went back to visit the widow on the Oct 13, 2013 to see how she was fairing with the newly acquired cow.


“The students of INILAK are teaming up with the government of Rwanda in the journey of seeking solutions for the vulnerable people,” says Eliab Ndindabahizi, the students’ representative.

Meanwhile, INILAK students have created a fund, to help out with a few essentials for the vulnerable groups.


These students have so far donated two cows to genocide widows and about 20 goats to vulnerable families.

“I am indebted to these students, a cow and milk is something I really needed,” said Kayireme.


The students promised to construct a modern kraal for the cow and renovate her house as well.


INILAK students  have a reputation of generosity, they recently contributed Rwf1.7 million to construct houses for genocide survivors.
