Farmers in Ngororore district were requested to plant trees amongst their crops which will help prevent the soil erosion that is common in this district.
This district has many hills and therefore during the rainy season this causes problems to farmers who reside in such hilly places.
“Different types of trees should be planted amongst crops and this will help prevent soil erosion”, said Theodomir Niyonsaba in charge of farming in Muhororo sector, Ngororero district.
He added on saying that people who have participated in such an activity have gained from it since this helps their crops grow better
This district plans on planting trees worth Rwf 2million in every performance contracts it makes for a year.
