These accommodations are especially for widows who remained with no family members after the 1994 genocide against the Tutsis. Thacianna Mukarubayiza is one of these widows who is grateful to having a safe and a beautiful home after a long period of time.

The beneficiaries of these houses started occupying them on Thursday the 4th Sept 2013 but on a temporary note until they are full built and safer to habitat permanently.

Eng. Innocent Ntaganzwa who is in charge of construction in the Reserved Force says these houses were badly destroyed but they were reconstructed and made stronger once more.

“What remains to be done in these houses are little compared to what is done and they will be added in sooner” says Eng. Eric Gatera the officer in charge of infrastructure in Nyanza district.
