Representatives of the children’s committee in cells and sectors have been called to fight and eradicate drugs and children violence from adults who violate their rights.
Security officials made this call on April 19th 2013 in Ngoma district during the talks with 180 children representatives from cell level to district level.
Ngoma district administration organized the children talks to remind children committees of their responsibilities since most of them are new on the National council for the children on cell, sector and district levels.
Bellancille Mukamizero, in charge of gender and family promotion in Ngoma district, who also represented the district in the talks, asserts that gathering children was meant to enable children who attended 8th meeting in February 2013 with President Paul Kagame to tell others the resolutions.
“Apart from informing other children resolutions from the meeting that was held in Kigali, the aim of the meeting was to remind the children of their duties as children representatives,” she explains.
Armand Ngarambe, children representative in Ngoma district confirms that Army chiefs and Police made resolutions on the problem of drugs and children violence.
“I want to tell people who violate children’s rights that the police are working hand in hand with army chiefs to eradicate violence and drug use,” he highlights.
The talks were attended by the workers in charge of social affairs in sectors who will train children committees in villages and cells.
