The Rwanda project ‘Linking Farmers to Markets’ [LIFAM], is here to help farmers participate more in farming through provision of market for the produced products which will be taken in at a lower price, hence help farmers develop.

This project started on the 19/09/2013 in Musanze district and it is meant to develop farming in Rwanda making it become more productive.

“This project will help the Rwandan Entrepreneurs’ Federation become self-reliant, supported by the members”, said the coordinator of the project   Dr. Livingstone Byamungu,

He added on saying that wherever this project was started production had increased and prices for products reduced hence a very big development for farmers.

“This project promised us different activities to help develop farming which involve different trainings, different project preparations, bringing us close to banks which will all help develop farming”, said one Irish potato farmer Appolonaire Karegeya.

“To develop farming into a profession, farmers need market for produced products”, added Jerome Mugenzi Jerome the district official in charge of finance and economic development.

He added on saying that such a programme will help know what markets need, which will in the end contribute to developed agriculture in the country.

This project will work 4yrs from Rwanda, and it will work with the Federation of Agriculturalists and Livestock farmers formed under the Rwanda Entrepreneurs’ Federation.
