Nyabihu: Striving for peace made priority

The Chairman of Unity and Reconciliation Forum in Nyabihu District Fabien Rwakigarama urged the forum members to always fight for peace, a remark that he asserted during the recent preparation for the International Peace day.


“Peace is one essential thing in life and this is why everyone should always give it respect, strive for it and also train it to the young people in the country”, said Rwakigarama.

The chairman added on saying that peace should start from an individual, then in homes, which will help carry it out with other people, hence bring it to the country level.


“As the year’s theme states “Education for Peace”, every teacher, parent should train children how to strive for Peace, and also to love it”, added on the meeting chairman.


In this meeting, the different participants decided on giving out different peace dialogues in schools encouraging children to love and strive for peace.


“Children should be trained on unity, reconciliation, and peace which will lead to growing up loving each other and their country as a whole”, explained Rwakigarama.


This International Peace day is celebrated on the 21/09/2013 and with the year’s theme “Education for Peace”, parents; teachers plus all Rwandans were advised to always strive for it.
