 Residents of Kisaro sector in Rulindo district complain the government confiscated their lands and sold them to the tea factory “SORWATHE” without compensation.
It’s in this line that Governor of Northern Province Aimé Bosenibamwe, Major General Alexis kagame the head of RDF in the province and Vice mayors of Rulindo district on August 7th 2012 visited the land and discussed the matter with the residents.
Over 60 residents claim the land is theirs but the government took claimed it and sold it without even compensation for their activities on that land like forests.
After listening to the former leaders whose term of office saw the selling of the land 20 years ago, Northern Province leaders resolved the issue should be analyzed properly.
Governor Bosenibamwe narrates: “A committee to find out the real truth of the matter is going to be set up and come here to talk to each person with information, in order to make the final decision.”
Governor promised residents that the selected committee will try to solve the problem before August 2012 ends.
