Rwanda | Nyamasheke: cookery skills assure girls of better future.

Youth student’s pursuing cooking and cuisine lessons at Ntyazo Vocational Training school (CFP) have said that their future will shine due to their cooking profession. The disclosure was made this Tuesday by students undergoing lessons concerning wheat and wheat by products.
Josiane Byukusenge, 18 said that her career will improve her and her family life and enable her to apply the acquired knowledge in any related field.  “Am very sure that cooking will lift me to development, in few days we will be doing our attachments in different areas and am ready to apply the skills I have in any field” she says.
Byukusenge added that her plans are to pursue a higher degree in cooking and cuisine profession which she said to be a well paying job
Students at this school revealed that undergoing a vocational training is advantageous in several aspects.  “it is possible for someone who has been trained to do practical’s not only seeking for a job but also creating your own business .” said Madeline Nyirangendahayo.
School authorities reported that students from CFP are well trained and no one spends a month without employed after graduating with certificates. “You will never find students from here seated after doing their three month internship most of them are recruited immediately.” says Liberee Mutako.
The government of Rwanda has put much emphasis in technical and vocational training schools in a bit to improve service delivery and human capacity in different institutions. In addition to cooking and cuisine lessons CFP Ntyazo also trains the youth in hotel management, customer care and catering.
