FAGER to sensitize youth on dangers of Drugs

Scholars from the university and higher institutions of learning in the Northern Province of Rwanda say drugs are a big issue that can disorganize the lives and the understanding of the youth.

This was said by about 30 university students in Rwanda students’ forum (FAGER) with the support of Rwanda Governance Board in the training to fight against drug usage in youth.

The youth get the illusion that drugs helps ease problems and life goes on without knowing that they are poisoning their lives and shutting off a certain part of their brains.

Supt. Theos Badege the Rwanda’s National Police spokesperson in the dangers of drugs awareness program explained the types of drugs found in the country and called upon learned youth to explain the dangers of drugs to their fellow youth.

Supt. Badege also explained that youth are the group of people most affected by drugs in the country and the reason why they should be sensitized on the dangers of drugs.

Boni Mukombozi who works in RGB says this program was done to promote good governance as they have always worked with the youth in different programs promoting good governance and long lasting development.

Roger Gatanazi the chairperson of FAGER says this training was to equip the scholars with knowledge they will use in the youth week that was prepared by FAGER and started on the 9th.March.2013.
