Head teachers have been urged to include east African community program on the schools syllabuses, to bring to the students’ attention the advantages of EAC to Rwandan society.
This was resolved during training that gathered 60 Head teachers of all secondary schools in the five provinces of Rwanda.
The conference was meant to sensitise teachers on using students to reach the bigger population on matters concerning EAC program.
This is because when students understand, they will sensitise their parents and fellow youth in their areas of residence.
During the conference, it was resolved that the program starts in the 60 secondary schools in Rwanda including 2 exemplary schools in every district.
In this program, students will be sensitised on the advantages of their country being a member of East African Community, Pascal Ngendahimana, a trainer in the conference explains.
The program targets youth because the future of the country is determined by its youth, he adds.
Teaching students benefits of EAC will be carried out by officials from the Ministry of East African Community with the support of school head teachers.
