Ten Rwandan students leave for tourism training in Kenya

Ten students selected by the Workforce Development Authority (WDA) have left for Kenya Utalii College (KUC) to study courses related to Hospitality and Tourism.

Among them, seven will take a two year course in Food production, one in Hotel Management, a 3-year course, one in Travel & Tourism Management (3 years), and one in Food and Beverage Services & Sales (2 years).

According to Sam Barigye the coordinator of Hospitality & Tourism training in WDA, another batch of 20 students is expected to go this week.

Kenya Utalii College is one of Africa’s leading Hospitality and Tourism training institution established over 40 years ago.

Such trainings sponsored by Government through WDA aim at addressing the existing skills gap evidenced in the hospitality industry through enabling people to upgrade their technical skills.

The same benefiting from this training are expected to train others to develop competencies that will make them competitive and employable at the labour market, regionally and internationally.
