Groove Awards set to unveil their nominees

Rwanda’s first Gospel awards, the Groove Awards, will unveil the nominees in different their categories on Saturday 14^th September 2013 at a gala night at Kigali Serena Hotel. The Awards, originally stemming from Kenya, look to recognize the efforts of gospel musicians who have made a mark in the industry.

Speaking to rwandashow.com Eric Munyemana, Groove Awards Rwanda coordinator revealed that a total of thirteen categories will be up for grabs. He said, “We will have thirteen categories plus two special categories. In total they will be fifteen. Artists nominated were given forms to fill in, in order to see if they fulfill the criteria we require from them. We also had a panel of journalists whom we used to assess the eligibility of the nominees.”

The official ceremony to launch Groove Awards took place at Kigali Serena Hotel on 14^th August 2013, with attendants being treated to a dazzling and entertaining evening. Applicants had been asked to submit their entries not later than 1^st September 2013 at their headquarters located at Ndamage House or at Blues Café.
