Strengthens Military cooperation with Netherlands
The Netherlands Defense Ministry has requested its Rwandan counterparts to have Dutch Military officers train at the Rwanda Peace Academy (RPA).
The request was made by Major Gen Beulen, the Director of operation in Netherlands Ministry of Defense on 6th February during her visit at the academy, located in Musanze district, in the Northern Province of Rwanda.
He was impressed with the significant progress at the Rwanda Peace Academy. The academy was built through the support of the Japanese government funding to Rwanda, during the tenure of outgoing Japanese envoy to Rwanda, Ambassador Kunio Hatanaka.
Beulen said that his ministry is planning to send some of their military officers to get trained at the Rwanda Peace Academy. “This is aimed at strengthening Defense cooperation and good relations between Rwanda and Netherland” Beulen said.
Beulen was accompanied by Commander Hildelgard Hof, Netherland Defense Attache to Rwanda with residence in Nairobi, who also visited the Rwanda Defense Forces headquarters in Kigali.
Rwanda Military and Defense Spokesperson, Brig. Gen Joseph Nzabamwita, the noted that the request made by Netherlands Defense Ministry was official granted by his Rwandans counterparts, to Dutch military officers trained in Rwanda. Nzabamwita also said Rwanda sends its officers to get trained in Netherland.
